Mark Tobias, President. Mark is Pantheon’s lead strategist, working closely with key clients and is responsible for all operational aspects of the business. Mark is a recognized expert in the application of technology to non-profit and business strategies and is a trusted resource for Pantheon’s clients. Mark’s technical background includes the design and development of database management systems, web applications, server farms, e-commerce transactions, and application service provider (ASP) products. In addition, he has developed and managed consulting methodologies and sales strategies for the products and services he has designed. Mark has taught classes and lectured on numerous topics including: innovative uses of the Internet for non-profits, content management systems, uses of the Internet in educational environments, web development, database management systems, management of outsourcing, electronic commerce, and Internet marketing in politics.
Mark previously was a principal in and Vice-President of Consulting for Net.Capitol, Inc., a leading developer of Internet-based products and services for public affairs and political organizations. Mark helped manage the successful growth and eventual sale of Net.Capitol to Netivation.com, where he worked as the Chief Operating Officer of Netivation’s Votenet political division.
Mark graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BA in Political Science. Mark lives with his wife in Bethesda, MD.
Oron Strauss, Chairman. Oron helps guide Pantheon’s strategy, leads business development, and manages the financial and administrative operations. He has lectured to numerous groups including the World Bank, US Senate Press Secretaries Association, Georgetown University, Carnegie Mellon University, Dartmouth College, DC New Media Society, the Zeff Group Internet Marketing and Advertising Conference, the Politics Online Conference, Susan B. Anthony List, the Netpreneur Program, DC Chamber of Commerce, and DC WebGrrls. Articles he has written about entrepreneurship have been featured on the Kauffman Foundation's Entreworld Web site, Garage.com, and the Microsoft Small Business web site.
Oron previously was the founder and CEO of Net.Capitol, Inc., a leading developer of Internet-based products and services for public affairs and political organizations. Oron managed the successful growth and eventual sale of Net.Capitol to Netivation.com (NASDAQ: MDNX), where he worked as the President and CEO of Netivation’s Votenet political division.
Oron also serves as a Director of IDS International. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with degrees in History and Government. Oron lives with his wife, two girls, and black lab in Alexandria, VA.
Akram Khan, EVP, Client Engagements. Akram is responsible for managing client relationships with several key clients, helping to understand key strategic issues and develop innovative technology solutions to help clients achieve their goals. Akram is an online technology veteran who came to Pantheon in late 2006 from Govolution, LLC, where he most recently served as Senior VP of Professional Services. At Govolution, he led development teams for commercial and government clients across a range of industries, including banking, federal and state governments, higher education, and utilities. Prior to joining Govolution, Akram was a Senior Developer at Net.Capitol, where he worked with Mark. Akram has also worked as a technology advisor and designer in the leadership committees of the US Senate. He has Master’s degree in the management of information technology from the University of Virginia and earned a BA from the College of William and Mary. Akram lives with his wife and son in Lorton, VA.
